Sound

Choosing sound was a very long process for us. It was the stage in producing our opening where the most disagreements occurred within the group as we all wanted the perfect sound. The three of us knew exactly what we wanted but finding it was very difficult. We knew from the beginning when we drew up our story board that we wanted our music to start off soft and slow and turn into something dramatic and fast paced after the opening titles. We used a website called Epidemic sound to find our songs. We didn't want to stick to the typical 'adventure' soundtrack, so we tried to look for something that still kept to all the conventions of the traditional sound but had a twist. For our soft beginning when the titles appear, we chose the sound Emotional Piano Theme 1 which we felt complimented our establishing shots very well. As Kira appears in the frame and she starts running, the music switches to a more upbeat sound with the 'adventure' and 'mystery' feel to it that we were looking for, this soundtrack is called Danger Zone 8.

Title

To create our title and credits, we used a software called Keynote. This enabled us to use a green screen to create the image of Kira running through the letters. The picture at the very top shows the screen we had to layer on top of our clips.  Unfortunately,  before Kira comes into the frame, the letter 'd' flickers slightly, as a group we are aware of this and tried many different ways such as re creating the whole title again to fix it but there is no solution to the problem. We found it very hard to find a font that was suited to our genre of film, that being adventure, so we ditched looking on word and instead found the perfect one on Keynote. We wanted something simple but yet still looked good. The name 'classified' was perfect for our opening as the whole clip is us as the audience not knowing whats being downloaded or who our character is on the phone to, therefore everything is kept classified until the film goes on.

Due to our opening being set in a field, we chose the location Oakwood Park. This is full of great places to film establishing shots and a great setting to have Kira, our actress, run through. We decided to take a scene from The Life of David Gale as inspiration for our establishing shot.  This consists of Kira running through a field, at the beginning the audience will not know who or what she is running from but as the clip goes on it becomes clear.
